CRIMINAL DIVISION
PLEASE REPORT ALL CRIMES TO YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY!!!
The criminal division utilizes a team of attorneys and investigators that are dedicated to uphold the law and protect the citizens of Ross County. The Ross County Prosecutor’s Office does not investigate any crimes. All investigations are performed by one of the law enforcement agencies. Once law enforcement has investigated the crime, they submit their report to this office for the prosecution of all felony cases. Misdemeanor cases are handled by the Chillicothe Law Director’s Office.
Ross County has two Courts of Common Pleas in which the criminal division prosecutes all felony charges. Once a Defendant has been indicted, the status of their case can be viewed on the Clerk of Court’s website. Each Friday the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office publishes a listing of cases that have reached the disposition stage. For the most current report, click here. The criminal division also provides 24 hour a day legal assistance and advice to all Ross County law enforcement agencies, including the Chillicothe Police Department, Ross County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
The prosecutor’s office prosecutes cases involving parents who refuse to pay or are habitually late with court ordered child support. The prosecutor’s office works cooperatively with the South Central Ohio Job and Family Services Child Support Division to obtain the monies due to child(ren) of this community.
